In 1999, Mr. Sanada went to London, England and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company as The Fool in their production of King Lear. He learned English and ultimately became an MBE. This production lead to Mr. Sanada joining the cast of the Last Samurai and starring in more international productions.

昔、イギリスで『リア王』の道化役を演じたのを知ってから、真田さんがアメリカのブロードウェイ・ミュージカルに挑戦しなかった、あるいは出来なかったのが残念ですね。
