Fight Highlights | Juan Estrada vs Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez

let’s get things started as we take a look at the tale of the tape we have been waiting for this one you see Estrada 34 years of age bam Rodriguez 10 years younger both identical in terms of height but bam Rodriguez trying to chase the Acclaim of elgo Estrada and trying to snatch the torch and the throne here tonight night in phoenixing out process here in the early going both men Lancing with their Jabs there’s Estrada opening things up with the left hook and a right hand caught on the gloves of vanam Rodriguez di Str doesn’t load up on shots he’s a ballum puncher but he hides his power you know he know he knows how of he knows how of Disguise when the hard shots coming so it’s hard to figure out if he’s he’s just touching you or he’s about to hurt you there’s a good little move from from B just a few seconds ago we just made this try the F shorts beautiful left hand right there by bam that caught the attention of G yeah there are two of them that have connected in the last 10 seconds or so as bam pivots and lands a nice uppercut on the inside as well and he barely makes you miss by an inch or two it sound like he steps out of range like a lot of South Paws do he stays in the pocket barely makes you miss and makes you pay Nice Shot there from Ben Rodriguez and now gu was hurt K’s hurt the rupper C from bam it was a right hook right to the temple the left side of the temple the strier but it was the feet that did that he moved around the tiger to to the left and he threw it from from an angle he couldn’t see that as strer it’s always the Angles and it’s always the footwork that baffles opponents when they’re fighting bad but look at the recuperative abilities of the old Champion asonic trying to weather the storm plenty of time for bam Rodriguez to work with and he is showing tremendous patience here considering the situation no I think Estrada still buzzed I don’t like the way his knees are bu when he misses and you see the bounce the the strength is not there in his legs right now yeah good good little one two there though off [Applause] a just punct in the [Applause] minutes there’s no rest there was there with that nice uppercut and the left hand fors G Estrada what a shot straight down the pipe beautiful Left Hand of course they came at an angle you made that point no rest when you’re in front of Van Rodriguez reminds me a little bit of usik Fury just usk does not let his opponents rest B Rodriguez this weight class does the same 15 seconds remaining in the round ELO on the floor for the first time as bam Rodriguez has him w again and that will be ruled a slip as guo tumbles round six underway in what thus far has been a master class from bam Rodriguez hard right hand by a SP down go Bam are you kidding me never count out of no Legend they always have that one last great fight down goes B with the right hand unbelievable he didn’t even load up to theal didn’t even just a nice smooth one two kle never loads up he hurts you with timing now this is the fight we thought we would see yeah that right hand been the weapon for him hasn’t in this round huge uppercut for bam big Right Hook by Estrada he’s punching with that young fighter now he knows he can’t compete with the speed and footwork so now he’s punching in between the shots a slly veteran and got your Str lovely combination there back there from Rodriguez EST Strada going Toe to Toe with the young lion with one of the sports most dangerous punchers and he’s had him on the canvas here in round six even there he everything right there get off the ropes and he still got caught hard body shot there from [Applause] [Music] [Applause] asron as you pointed out Sergio credit to Bam Rodriguez for the way he bounced back in that round and if you took that knockdown away in that round if you didn’t see that you look at that round a different way I think yeah sure the strata punching nicely right now keeping Bam off him with straight shots everything straight from point A to point B nothing coming around the guard right now that’s what’s keeping BC Bay Str briefly stationary along the ropes gets his back off the ropes and fires the right hand good shot both of them landed at the same time right now more effect I think his right left hand I think yeah Bam’s taking the shots better even when he gets hit with a clean shot responds physically a lot better than Gada is and that’s youth that’s the fact that he still has strength in his legs again there that little faint before let that one two go again there anytime G touch start to look good B just SW it away shot puts El down in a heap and he stands over over the former King bam Rodriguez takes the throne with all respect to all the greats that have come in this flyweight division from Michael Carvajal to Roman cholito Gonzalez we got a new King in the flyweight division ladies and gentlemen referee Chris Flores reaches the count of 10 at 3 minutes of round number seven declaring your winner by knockout and the new WBC and Ring magazine super flyweight Champion the world Jesse Rodriguez [Music] [Applause]

  1. The whole mythical"Pound for Pound" rankings were specifically designed for smaller fighters like Bam Rodriguez. If he was 122 or 147 pounds, he pieces up Inoue and Bud Crawford. At 168, he gives Canelo all he can handle. He should be #1 P4P. Bam is special.

  2. Estoy sorprendido con lo virtuoso que es Rodriguez; muy buena defensa y excelente juego de piernas, y buen volumen de golpes 👏 👌🏻 💪🏻

  3. Man what a time to be alive! This is truly a golden age of combat sports, especially in boxing. Many will look back at this time and realize how special it was.
